CERAKOTE – We offer Cerakote, a high-performance ceramic-based coating, as an option for clients seeking both aesthetics and durability. Cerakote is designed to be applied to metals, plastics, polymers, wood and other substrates, offering superior hardness, abrasion and chemical resistance compared to many traditional finishes. At H2O Imaging, we apply Cerakote coatings with care to ensure the finish not only looks great but stands up to real-world use. ACID ETCHING – At H2O Imaging, we offer acid etching as one of our specialized metal-finishing services — from firearm components to jewelry like rings and everything metal in between. With this technique, we use controlled chemical solutions to subtly remove a thin layer of the metal surface, creating unique texture, definition, or contrast. Whether a part is going to be further coated, engraved, or left bare, acid etching allows us to bring out fine detail, highlight contours, and add depth to any metal substrate. It’s a perfect complement to our other processes (such as hydrographics and Cerakote) when you want a customized metal look that’s more than just a simple color finish.
Because the process involves metal reactivity, surface preparation is important — cleaning, degreasing, and sometimes masking are required so the etch occurs only where it’s wanted.
